WDC's Wonderland Activity Writing |
Prompt 1. "Follow the White Rabbit" – Write about your participation in this project/activity, and what you hope to gain from it once finished. (<500 words) Author's Notes: Opening Move What did I get myself into? When I saw a WDC Wonderland focused activity. It seemed like something fun to try. As a chess fan I love how the game ties in with "Through the Looking Glass" and when I found out the competitors for this activity were called "White Pawns' this became a must try for me. So today... I get a notification in my newsfeed that the challenges are up and discover that each challenge has multiple parts with over 40 tasks to accomplish in about a month. This is going to be really intense. ^_^; So what are my goals for this? I just want to get as far as I possibly can and have fun with writing for it. There are a lot wild topics in the activity list that seem like they'd be enjoyable to attempt. I also want to get in at least one Chess reference into this book which I guess I succeeded in doing when I titled this entry. (Woo Hoo... one goal already checked off). I would love to try to have my entries for this intertwine into one large story however since I'm new to this, I doubt I'll be able to make my entries connect very much amid all the Wonderland Madness. I think that I should set the more simple goal of getting through all these activities opting to play for a stalemate rather than a win. (Another chess reference ... I should probably keep a running count). The poetry segments for this seem like they'll be fun too. Jabberwocky is one of my favorite Nonsensical poems. If I can write something even a fraction as good as that one I would be pretty happy. Ok everyone... here's hoping I'll be able to make it through this. Please Wish me Luck! Good luck to the other Pawns as well!! - Word Count: 326 Words Chess References: 2 |
