Follow these steps to set up your account and begin sharing your writing.

 1) Set Up Your Profile
Personalize your BioBlock & Biography          
Your BioBlock and Biography introduce you to the Writing.Com community and set the tone for your portfolio.
How do I do that? ▶︎

Change Your Handle          
Your Handle is the name that appears next to your portfolio icon. Unlike your username, you can change your handle whenever you’d like.

2) Explore Your Portfolio
Learn how your portfolio works          
Your portfolio is your home base on Writing.Com. It’s where you create, edit, organize your work, and manage your account tools. (For full details, see: Overview of Your Portfolio.)

3) Share your first piece
Add a piece of writing to your portfolio and start sharing your work.          
Click +Create Something in the left navigation to open our creation page. From there, choose the item type that best fits what you’d like to publish. Your writing doesn’t have to be perfect—first drafts are welcome. (For more about item types, see: Item Types and Their Uses.)

4) Say hello & connect
New here? Introduce yourself!          
Say hello and start connecting with other members. (Read: New Members: Our Newbies.)
