Find Someone Specific If you're looking for someone specific, you can put their handle or username into the search box located above the author listing. This will bring you all possible choices that contain that wording. You may then select from the list of search results. 1Additional methods of location for authors or members you have had interactions with include authors or members you have added to your Favorites/Fans list or to your email contacts list. You can use a userlink of an author or member anywhere it appears on the site to go to that portfolio, to add them to your Favorites/Fans, or to send them an email. If you know an author or member's username, you can create such a userlink for them in your Scratchpad page of your Notepad, for example (see: WritingML Help for user). Note: These additional methods are the only available methods to locate the portfolio of a member whose portfolio is empty. Understanding Portfolio Icons Each Registered Member receives an empty online portfolio as soon as they sign up for an account. The initial portfolio icon for new accounts is gray, indicating that the portfolio is empty. In order for the member to be included on Writing.Com's Authors listing, the member must create at least one item in their portfolio. The portfolio icon will then automatically change to black, and the member becomes a Registered Author. If the author is promoted, the color of the portfolio icon will change to yellow, blue, purple or red, depending on the level of promotion. For complete information on the portfolio icons, see "Portfolio Icons" . Footnotes |
