The Portfolio tab is the main area where you can view and manage the items in your portfolio. When you open your Portfolio tab while logged in, you are viewing your private portfolio. This view includes tools that allow you to organize and manage your items. When other members visit your portfolio, they see your public portfolio, which displays your items exactly as you have arranged them, but without the management tools. Portfolio Header and Bio Block At the top of your portfolio you will see your portfolio header, which includes: • Your cover image • Your handle and profile information • Your Bio Block You can edit this area by clicking the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the header. From there you can: • Update your Bio Block • Change your cover image (Upgraded members) • Manage your Highlighted Items Highlighted Items Below your portfolio header you may see a section titled Highlighted Items. This area allows you to feature selected items from your portfolio so visitors can easily find some of your favorite or most important work. Highlighted items can be managed by clicking the drop down arrow next to the title. Portfolio Toolbar Above your items in your portfolio, you will see several quick-access links that help you manage your portfolio. + Create Clicking + Create opens a menu that allows you to create any of the item types available on Writing.Com. Selecting an item type will take you directly to the page where you can create that item. For more information, see: Creating and Uploading Writing Manage This section includes several tools for organizing and maintaining your portfolio: • Reorder – Change the order in which items appear in your portfolio. • Set Access – Update the access permissions for multiple items at once. • Move – Move one or more items into a selected folder. • Delete – Remove items from your portfolio. Deleted items are moved to the Recycling Bin until they are permanently purged. • Organizer – Rearrange items visually by dragging and dropping them into place. These tools make it easy to organize and manage large portfolios quickly. View This section includes several tools for organizing and maintaining your portfolio: • Stats & Info – provides a summary of statistics and information about your portfolio and account activity. This area includes various facts and figures related to your writing and your participation on the site. For more information and greater detail on this feature, please see: Stats & Info. • Folders – opens a menu that allows you to jump directly to any folder in your portfolio, including subfolders. Folders allow you to organize your items into groups so readers can easily navigate your work. For more information on folders, please see: Folder. • Recycling Bin – stores items that you have deleted from your portfolio. Deleted items remain in the Recycling Bin until they are: • Automatically purged after two weeks, or • Manually removed using the Purge Recycling Bin command. Once an item has been purged from the Recycling Bin, it cannot be recovered. Search Search your portfolio for easy access to items. Details This allows you to toggle Show Details / Hide Details. This expands each item in your portfolio to display additional information, including the item view, genres, creation date, and last modification date. Clicking to hide the details collapses that view so only the item title and short description are shown. Explore more: |
