Canine Condos
We do have a bit of land, but our house is...small cozy.

Our small dogs all sleep in soft-sided crates. Once Cheddar was added to our little pack and we had to add yet another crate in the bedroom, it was getting just a little too cozy in there.

I came up with the idea of making canine condos. That's my job, I'm the creative one (usually). My husband liked the idea immensely, since he was the one who couldn't get into his closet without moving multiple crates. Necessity really is the mother of invention.

He got out his trusty measuring tape, and started to brain storm. We talked about it several times. He researched shelving units on line, and we shopped for them at the store. One evening we were both relaxing, working on our laptops and watching TV, he gets up and goes out the front door. I assumed he was heading to the garage, but I had no idea what he was up to.

He came back in carrying in the top shelf and supports to a plastic shelving unit we have out in the garage. The canine condo project was on its way to being built. It all came together very quickly, and has been absolutely brilliant. Basil and Cheddar have the top condos, and Caramel and Tamale have the lower condos. Now the crates are all out of the way, and my husband has unimpeded access to his closet.
