Jan. 27th Entry- Old Time TV
Fun Fact Friday! On this day in 1926 a Scottish inventor named John Baird demonstrated a pictorial transmission machine called the television. Do you remember seeing your first television...the one your parents had when you were a kid? What were some of your favorite shows? Do you still watch any of the old programs you enjoyed as a teenager?
------------------------------------
Well now, this will age me for sure.

I remember the first TV we had, it was black and white. I can't remember the shows that I watched back then but I know one of them was The Ed Sullivan Show and other was American Bandstand; what a great show.

I was a sophomore in High School and remember when that fabulous 4, The Beatles, landed at the airport. They were going to be on The Ed Sullivan Show. The High School Library table was crowded with all the girls around Life Magazine showing the foursome. I seated myself like a statue in front of the TV and didn't move until that show was over. This was a great time to be a teenager and enjoy the music from The British Invasion; it was all great!

Later, the televisions came in a fancy console, like a piece of furniture. Around that same time, we all bought record players that were also like a long pieces of furniture. You could store your 45's and albums on the side.

My, my, how time changes things.
