Plot: Premise Revision Now that you have spent a month planning your novel, revise your initial premise. Identify the following: (1) Setting(s). Where does your story take place? My story is still in Sherwood, Texas. That hasn't changed. (2) Protagonist(s). Who is(are) your main character(s)? Ruth is the main character. There will be some characters that are mentioned more than others such as Ruth’s best friend Olivia. I won't know all of the specifics here until I write the story. (2b) Flaw(s). What is(are) the protagonist's major flaw(s)? Ruth's major flaw is she will show her humaness in her grief. (2c) Goal(s). What does(d) the protagonist(s) want (or want to avoid)? She wants to get through her grief, and grow closer to God. (3) Conflict(s). What's keeping them from their goal(s)? Grief, emotions, frustration (4) Antagonist(s). Who or what is creating the conflict(s)? Spirit of grief (5) Resolution. How does it all turn out in the end? Ruth gets through her grief and life goes on. (6) Theme: What is the theme or moral of the story? Grief is a natural process. God can help you through your grief when you press into him. (7) Outline: Update your outline as needed. I think my outline is good. |
