Prompt: FRIDAY THE 13TH EDITION - Mom was a superstitious sort. She never made plans to go out on Friday the 13th. To her, it was science. How about you, are you a superstitious sort? Do you have a funny story steeped in superstition to share? You could also have some fun making up zany superstitions of your own. This might be a good day for a funny poetic entry.

None of those mundane superstitions for me. I sneer at them. I have a good one. I don't know of anyone that has this one.

"Keep the closet door shut." I have a superstition, to this day, of always making sure the closet door is shut. Something about ghosties and ghoulies coming out. Perhaps it was because my sister and I shared a room and stuffed anything and everything in our closet. We were not good at keeping our room tidy and clean. You took your life in your hands if you tried to open those closet doors. A ghost or gremlin could indeed pop out.

So here I am, of a certain age, and still having to make sure that closet door is shut every night before I go to bed. Perhaps I'm afraid someone from my past life will jump out.

Weird.
