Curtain Call

Rage, rage at the dying of the light
Dylan Thomas

The futile fury at the inevitable,
wasting the final few bright moments
in geriatric tantrum at this late hour,
it’s hardly fitting.

I have no doubt that Thomas senior
went grateful to his end,
the anger all for Dylan -
it’s the living have time for such things.
