Heartbeat

I can hear your heartbeat,
Beating in time to mine,
Dancing in the moment--
One rhythm performed
In tandem--
All of a sudden music
Sounds so sweet.
The simple task of waking up
Next to you,
Enchanted by a magical performance.
A flute, rising in timbre and tone,
Harps played by the fae
In wooded fantasy lands,
Dreaming in real time,
When the sun reaches its peak
In the noon hour.
Its melodies a piper's call,
And I can hear your heartbeat
Above it all.
