Santa's elves were loading up the sleigh so Santa could deliver presents. Santa was all dressed and he had to get the reindeer hitched to the sleigh. It was snowing but Santa wasn't worried. Santa was all ready to go. He went outside and by his castle door, Santa found as big, blue dragon egg. Santa was surprised. What was he going to do with this? He had to make deliveries buy something to take the dragon egg with him. Santa was carrying an extra red, velvet sack. He put the dragon egg in the sack. Santa hitched his reindeer to the sleigh. He gave each one a carrot and a hug. He told them it would be a good trip. The reindeer were content. A gargoyle was flying around, chasing the mother dragon and she left her egg with Santa on his steps at the castle. She knew Santa would protect her egg and she would return later to bring her baby home. Santa and his reindeer left and soared into the sky. Santa was concerned about the dragon egg. Was it a dragon egg? What else could it be? Santa and his reindeer went to a lot of houses. He ate all the cookies and milk left for him. He gave cookies from the other houses to his reindeer. He always took the extras home for the elves. Everyone was in bed at the houses he went to. The one house had a dog that barked at him. A cute black Lab. Santa gave him a dog biscuit and petted him. Another house had a cat. Santa petted the cat and gave the cat, a cat treat. Santa and his reindeer flew to other houses and it was foggy in this area. The reindeer slowed down. Just then a big, flying creature was above them. The creature was right over Santa and his reindeer. Santa was nervous and so were the reindeer. He told the reindeer to land and they went down and so did the flying creature. Santa looked at the creature. It was a big, blue dragon! Santa knew what the dragon wanted. Santa got the red, velvet sack with the dragon egg. He got out of the sleigh and carried the egg over to the dragon. "I think this belongs to you." The dragon cuddled the egg and make happy, growling noises. She hugged it. Santa petted her and the dragon took her claw and patted Santa. "I don't know how you lost this egg but I am glad you have her egg back." The dragon nodded and flew off. Santa and his reindeer finished making deliveries. Santa went home thinking about the dragon and her egg. A few months later, Santa heard noises outside like a jet plane landing. Santa went outside and saw the blue dragon and she had a small, pink and blue dragon with her. Santa went over to the baby dragon. Santa gave them apples. He petted them and they flew off after their treats. The elves were all nervous. "Santa, that was a dragon and her baby! Why are they here? What do they want?" "It is alright. The mother dragon lost her egg at Christmas and I gave her back to her when she found me making deliveries and she wanted me to see her baby. It is hard to believe but she is a dragon. Dragons are nice." Every year at Christmas, the mother dragon and her son stop by and Santa gives them treats and they got to meet the elves and reindeer. The baby dragon grew but the dragons were always friendly. . |
