Blog Prompt: What does it mean to you to live by the Spirit instead of the flesh?

To me, living by the Spirit is denying my fleshly desires to do what is right according to the law of God. It is fully repenting and being grieved over my own sins and how the effect and harm God and other people. It is seeking God's forgiveness and working with him to change my bad behavior to more Godly behavior. It is spending time in prayer and worship with the Lord and developing a personal relationship with him. It is listening to my conscience and still small voice within me.

Prayer prompt: Pray that God would help you live by the Spirit instead of in the flesh.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Help me to deny my flesh to follow you. Help me to walk in the Spirit. Lead me and guide me in the way you would have me to go. I love you and I desire to please you. Help me to do so.
In Christ's name,
Amen.

Sometimes choosing happiness is easier said than done. However, I'd so much rather be happy than depressed. So, why not choose happiness? I definitely have to be intentional about it though some days more than others. Life can be tricky like that.

What do you like doing the most, these days? What do you not like? Does it make sense to hand off some of those things that you don’t like as much, if you have someone to hand them off to?

I wish I had someone to hand them off to. I love to write Bible studies, poetry, and stories (fiction and non-fiction). I hate doing dishes and always have. Unfortunately, I have had to accept it as part of life. I would hate to eat out of dirty dishes more, so it's definitely best to wash them. Such is life. I'd probably spend all my time on WDC if I could. LOL
