NO more humor... just more tragic, sad, sick, twisted goings ons - Sorry |
This guy's job has surely been threatened, or he wouldn't be saying he's been misquoted: http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/D335B0DB-EB62-41BC-9433-E531BF800A6C.htm Somebody finally spoke the truth about Bush's War in Iraq by saying basically, "America was arrogant and stupid." I'm all for "Cut & Run". In my opinion, Sadamn was better for Iraq than Bush has been for America. Given the current death toll in Iraq, and I'm not just talking about dead American soldiers' either, America needs to end it's occupation of Iraq immediately. Go ahead and call it "Cut and Run"... it sure the hell better than "Stay the Course"... if you think differently then as far as I'm concerned, "You're an idiot." http://riverbendblog.blogspot.com/ A Blog from Baghdad The Lancet Study: http://www.thelancet.com/webfiles/images/journals/lancet/s0140673606694919.pdf Written by James Landrith Friday, 20 October 2006 Ampersand (at Alas! A Blog), on Why The Lancet Study Matters: "According to the most recent study, published in Lancet, somewhere between 400,000 and 800,000 Iraqis have died because Americans - both Democrats and Republicans - lost track of the incredibly basic, obvious fact that starting a war is evil. Around half a million people are dead. Is it possible that we’ll learn a lesson from this, and not start a war with Iran?" "The important point is not if the “right” number is 655,000 deaths, or 400,000 deaths, or even 250,000 deaths. The important point is that this war - and the whole idea of pre-emptive war - is a tragic, dismal failure, and one that can no longer be in good conscience defended by anyone who values human life."
