Hypothetical Parenting

Let's just say you were a parent of a 12-year-old girl. Let's say that the girl's teacher called you to say that she doesn't pay attention in class, is having a hard time concentrating, made a very low grade on her spelling test last week, didn't turn in a project that is due today AND has after school detention tomorrow for all of the reasons listed above. Let's also say that your significant other is out of town until Friday so you must handle this situation yourself.

Hold on........that's not all.

Let's also say that you found out she has a myspace account that she hides from you because it's strictly forbidden in your household.
1. because the age for myspace is 14
2. because it's strictly forbidden in your household
3. did I mention it's strictly forbidden in your household?

What would you, as the hypothetical parent, do?

P.S. I've been told that an ass whopping is not an option for this age child.(if you ask me, I think all consequences should start off with a good old fashion ass whopping!)
