March 5th Prompt- Wedding day

Memories of the day

He stood over the pictures that lay in a stack
Bracing himself as the memories came back

Pictures of his daughter from tot to teen,
catching every moment in between

His only child and he spoiled her rotten
Any of her misdeeds soon forgotten

Before he knew it she was dating boys,
no longer interested in her girly toys

He shuffled through pictures and found the one
Of his beautiful daughter and future son

He’ll always remember as she stood to his right
A stunning vision dressed in white

Mixed emotions played in his heart,
happiness and sadness each had a part

For his little girl was now fully grown,
soon to have a family of her own

He remembered the taxi and waving good-bye,
then wiping the teardrop from his eye

He gathered the pictures and put them away
Fondly thinking of his favorite day

It seemed just yesterday, but it has been awhile,
when he walked his daughter down the aisle.
