Of all the prompts....
Ok, this is my informal writing style and my gripey mode.

I have signed up on two sites hoping to increase my writing ability and stretch my imagination. I figured it might help to have two styles of site. This site strikes me as more professional, while the other strikes me as more random, I guess. There appear to be far more younger and immature writers on the other site, but there are also some phenomenal authors as well.

So I entered a contest. The premise is to enter and ask for a prompt and the owner of the contest gives a random prompt. I looked at some other entries and they looked like decent prompts, so I decided to give it a shot. What prompt do I get??

Emo kid.

Seriously. Write a story about a troubled teen, why the teen is troubled, how the teen deals with conflicts in life, and how the teen resolves the drama. Emo drama!!

Why me??

Of all the things... GOSH! So, now I'm slated as an entry in a contest that could have been cool but is now totally lame, for me at least. But I should do it, I guess. I mean, if it's about stretching imagination and working outside of your box, this is definitely the way to do it. But damn.

*sigh*
