I Kinda Think I Prevailed Here...
The more I talk about my beliefs the more I think I start to understand them. Anyway, on my myspace I had left a status message asking people to remember not to judge. With the election came a vast amount of opinions and beliefs...a lot of which were expressed as being ways to make the country better or worse. Sorry, But I can't comprehend judgement such as that against homosexuality and race. I honestly don't have the same gene, or whatever, that some people have that make them look at a gay couple and think it's wrong. I just don't think ANYTHING of it. It's normal to me. But I'm equal rights and all.

Anyway, my best friend go online and we talked about what I said. About how you shouldn't judge any human because that human is a creation of their God just as they are. I think I strongly argued my case withouth becoming defensive or cocky. Here's the conversations. She is Morgan, and I of course am Toe:

p.s I would also like to add that not once throughout this whole conversation did I feel offended or as though the debate got to heated.

Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:02:13 PM): TENNILLEE!!!!!!
Toe (12/8/2008 5:02:18 PM): hiiiii
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:02:21 PM): your myspace status!
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:02:24 PM): aaagghhh!
Toe (12/8/2008 5:02:41 PM): heh heh
Toe (12/8/2008 5:02:43 PM): it's true.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:02:50 PM): It comes from my last blog though.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:02:51 PM): well... dear... i love you... but no.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:03:03 PM): Makes me sad....
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:03:51 PM): well, the bible clearly states that God says homosexuality is an abomination.... GOD. So, yes, as christians.... dont judge... but, truly... it's wrong.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:04:05 PM): but this is why the world is different!
Toe (12/8/2008 5:04:05 PM): that statement is funny to me...
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:04:21 PM): well.... same to you sister....... this is where we differ!
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:04:23 PM): i love you!
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:04:25 PM): im not mad!
Toe (12/8/2008 5:04:27 PM): LOL
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:04:29 PM): please dont think that
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:04:41 PM): i just couldnt disagree with you more!
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:04:42 PM): lol
Toe (12/8/2008 5:04:45 PM): I know. Just makes me wonder where christians think homosexual people come from?
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:04:59 PM): THE DEVIL! lol
Toe (12/8/2008 5:05:03 PM): lol
Toe (12/8/2008 5:05:05 PM): goofy
Toe (12/8/2008 5:05:44 PM): I just wish people would put more concentration into the good of people rather than the bad. Why the world sux.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:07:01 PM): you know what though??? there are just as many negative/judgemental ppl out there.. that arent christians... versuses the christians that 'look down upon homos'. not everyone is lucky enough to have me as a friend! i dont judge no one! lol
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:07:06 PM): and yes... the world sucks.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:07:15 PM): you are true true.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:07:27 PM): ANYWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:07:33 PM): sorry... just needed to get that off my chest.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:07:51 PM): since the whole election is over and all, i dont have anything to argue about... lol
Toe (12/8/2008 5:07:59 PM): yeah, but saying the way someone lives is wrong is judging. Not anything against christians. I don't distinguish religions.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:08:30 PM): BUT, Christians are taught that it is wrong! so what can you expect, ya know?
Toe (12/8/2008 5:08:57 PM): You can be taught all kinds of things.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:09:08 PM): You don't always have to live by what you are taught.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:09:40 PM): Being good and compassionate is all I want for myself. That means to everyone.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:10:06 PM): No one has to teach me that. I can figure it out.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:13:29 PM): yeah, but it's just a different lifestyle, when you go by christianity. you are taught to go by the book. lol
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:13:44 PM): but that is everyone's choice, as to what they believe.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:14:26 PM): It's strange that that's the case because a lot of religions consider their religion to be the only way and if you believe in anything else, you are condemmed.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:15:04 PM): eh. i can understand why you see it that way....
Toe (12/8/2008 5:15:31 PM): heh heh. I'm trying very hard to get back into this buddhism thing.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:15:38 PM): OBVIOUSLY

Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:16:22 PM): there are religions that ARE jusgemental... and that have created a lot of man-made laws... that ARENT biblical.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:17:41 PM): It's hard to live in america being something other than Christian that way. Most laws are christian based though not everyone believes that way. There's no way of escaping, we sort of just have to deal.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:18:42 PM): i dont think laws are christian based. i think they are trying to take christianity OUT of america!

Toe (12/8/2008 5:19:30 PM): They don't need to take christianity out of America but what about freedom of religion? Just because people want equality as far as religion goes, christians suddenly feel targeted.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:20:01 PM): abortion is legal= obviously... not of christian morals.... dealth penalty.... thou shall NOT kill..... they wanted to take the 10 commandments out of the court room....
Toe (12/8/2008 5:20:40 PM): They should. Though the ten commandments are basically just a moral set of rules to obey. It should just be standard with no title.

Toe (12/8/2008 5:21:18 PM): Buddhists have something called the eight fold path which in essence....basically the same thing as the commandments..

Toe (12/8/2008 5:22:36 PM): Everyone I know and I'm close to has said I seemed happiest when I studied Buddhism.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:22:39 PM): so, you feel that you are outcasted, living in america wanting to be Buddist?.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:23:56 PM): No, not at all. I just feel like anyone other than christians are kind of left out of things like laws and such. Why do you think they make gay marriage illegal? There is no other reason other than "The bible says it's wrong" I don't believe in the bible and were I gay I'd be pretty well pissed.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:24:52 PM): And sure some see marriage as a Christian practice but as far as rights go for married people, you have to be married by law.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:25:19 PM): the nation was founded on christian values.... and gay marriage laws are state to state.... obviously indiana is not for it.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:26:08 PM): Woot!
Toe (12/8/2008 5:26:14 PM): lol
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:26:24 PM): can i ask you an honest question?
Toe (12/8/2008 5:26:29 PM): course
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:26:43 PM): why are you so pissed about this when you arent gay?
Toe (12/8/2008 5:27:00 PM): Because I am a hard core equal rights person.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:27:04 PM): EQUAL
Toe (12/8/2008 5:27:08 PM): no matter what
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:27:42 PM): but you need to swallow the fact that America is a CHRISTIAN based nation... and it's not going to happen.....
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:27:53 PM): to forward?
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:27:58 PM): sorry... if i offended you

Toe (12/8/2008 5:27:59 PM): At one point in time black people couldn't vote because they were black. Woman didn't have the same rights as men because they were women. Gay people can't get married because of their sexual preference. It all goes hand and hand.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:28:39 PM): You didn't offend me. And yes, I agree...christian based nation. Just like once we were a WHITE based nation. It's all the same to me. We all have blood there should be no difference.

Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:29:38 PM): i think racism is still a problem.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:29:45 PM): It is
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:29:53 PM): and that's why i think Obama is prez.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:30:12 PM): I think Bush was president solely because he was christian.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:30:14 PM): because black people ONLY voted for him bc he was black.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:30:30 PM): And if McCain won, it would have been the same reason.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:30:37 PM): most prez get voted for that reason..... bc it's what america wants! a christian president
Toe (12/8/2008 5:30:47 PM): ...am I not an american?
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:31:12 PM): america doesnt want a buddist, or muslim.. or what ever else is out there.... it's the unknown. and ppl dont like change.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:31:30 PM): Not neccessarily that I would NOT vote for a christian, but I wouldn't vote for a buddhist if I didn't like certain things he did.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:31:49 PM): Which is the problem, Fear of change.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:31:59 PM): not everyone is like you though....... people hear the word 'christian' and are like, CHECK!.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:32:00 PM): BUt things will change.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:32:07 PM): Yeah, I know.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:32:14 PM): And it shouldn't be that way.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:32:18 PM): then other people hear... "lowered taxes!"... CHECK

Toe (12/8/2008 5:32:48 PM): A buddhist president would be awesome, heh heh
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:33:12 PM): it wouldnt bring peace to the world though.... no one can do that.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:33:26 PM): No, not ONE person can do that.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:33:33 PM): It's a team effort, yo
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:33:35 PM): exactly.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:33:58 PM): "figting for peace is like fucking for virginity"
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:34:06 PM): isnt it amazing that we are BFF's ... yet sooo different?
Toe (12/8/2008 5:34:12 PM): yeah, it's weird. lol
Toe (12/8/2008 5:34:44 PM): I got into the whole buddhist thing with Lauren yesterday. She's christian, voted for McCain. A lot like you in beliefs. It was a funny conversation.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:35:14 PM): yeah mccain! lol
Toe (12/8/2008 5:35:18 PM): who?
Toe (12/8/2008 5:35:20 PM): LOL
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:35:25 PM): shut it.
Toe (12/8/2008 5:35:32 PM): heh
Toe (12/8/2008 5:35:47 PM): Ok, I'll be back. I gotta put groceries away and start some laundrey
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:36:21 PM): dont worry, tennille, when the Lord returns for his people, all hell will brake loose to the world, and there will be zero christianity left in the world. lol
Toe (12/8/2008 5:36:47 PM): It's cool, I'll be in nirvana.
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:37:02 PM): with Cobain?
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:37:02 PM): lol
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:38:54 PM): i need to start dinner.... i will talk at cha later!
Morgan Owens (12/8/2008 5:38:58 PM): kloveyoubye!

I had to keep in the Cobain part, I thought it was hilarious.

Much love and happiness,
