An evil twist to the usual things that go bump in the night. |
Janet slid down the wall and landed on the cold tile floor. She felt something tug on her back. The shade fell off the window. The sun shone through the darkness. It illuminated every corner. Every crevice. Janet stood up. She felt such strength. Such anger. Such evil. Bonnie jumped back. She looked around. There was no where to run. No one to turn to. Janet saw the dilemma. It pleased her immensely. It gave her more power. More strength. "How DARE you say those things about me!" Janet lunged towards Bonnie. She pushed her as hard as she could. Bonnie flew across the room, She hit the wall with full force. Janet saw her slide down the wall and break the wooden table on the other end. Janet looked to see if Bonnie was moving. Nothing. The voice boomed out of the sky "Kill her! Kill her! Finish her off! You've been waiting all this time. No more waiting! Kill her! Kill her!" Janet lunged towards her with a kitchen knife she'd grabbed off the table. Bonnie rolled out of the way. The knife stuck in the wooden table. The monstrous voice cursed. "You missed her you lousy coward! I can't believe how afraid you are! Why should she be any different? You must kill her! You owe me!" Bonnie started to pull herself up from the floor. Janet could tell she was hurt. There was a part of Janet that wanted to run up to Bonnie and hug her and ask her if she was okay. Tell her how sorry she was for hurting her. The voice wouldn't let her. It kept booming at her like she was some kind of servant or something. "What is wrong with you, Janet?" Boomed the voice across the room. Janet just stood there frozen. The thoughts of Janet's childhood left her frozen in her tracks. She could remember the marathon games of Monopoly her and Bonnie used to play when she was little. She remembered the dates with boys. She remembered the sing-a-longs with her family at the mansion. Trying to master the art of jumping rope, which her or Bonnie could never do. A tear escaped Janet's eyes. The frustration of trying to remember her past did nothing but infuriate her. The bits and pieces that floated into Janet's mind didn't answer any questions. They only made things more difficult. She found herself almost liking Bonnie. She actually liked almost everything about her right down to the yellow high heel shoes that matched her golden hair. There'd be not a soul in this land that could pull that off, only Bonnie. How did Janet know that? Why was it she was only allowed to remember so much? Why couldn't she remember what got her in this hell hole? How come she thought that it was Bonnie that got her here? These thoughts frustrated Janet even more. "Kill her! Kill her!" The voice boomed over some loud speaker in Janet's mind. She plunged at Bonnie one more time with all of her might. Bonnie moved. Janet hit the scraps of table with full force. Janet took a look at the window. She stared long and hard into the bright yellow sunshine. Janet made the most incredible noise she'd ever made in her whole life. It was a large horrific growl that came some where down deep inside of her. From some dark place that she'd never known she'd even had. Janet even scared herself. |
