The Seasons of Snow
The February 25, 2013 prompt for "Blogging Circle of Friends Prompt ForumOpen in new Window.
What's your favorite season? Why?

There is a reason for each season:
Spring is the time for planting new hope.

Spring is the season of new beginnings,
It is nature's brand new year,
It is time to do a thorough housecleaning,
And to pack away winter's fear.

There is a reason for each season:
Spring is the time for planting new hope.
Summer is is the time for expectations to grow.

Summer is the season of maturity,
When nature is ripening its fruit,
When daylight hours imitates immortality,
And night becomes a point that is moot.

There is a reason for each season:
Spring is the time for planting new hope.
Summer is the time for expectations to grow.
Autumn is the time for reaping hope's rewards.

Autumn is the season of harvest,
When nature drops next year's seeds,
When humanity notices the lengthening darkness,
And time appears to increase its speed.

There is a reason for each season:
Spring is the time for planting new hope.
Summer is the time for expectations to grow.
Autumn is the time for reaping hope's rewards.
Winter is the time of hope's transition.

Winter is the season of death,
When nature's fields are fallow,
When gratitude is ones next deep breath,
And tree limbs look pale and sallow.

Thought of the Day: To be interested in the changing seasons is a happier state of mind than to be hopelessly in love with spring. - George Santayana

What is my favorite season? As I age and mature my favorite season has changed. When I was young and my bones and joints were not bothered by the damp and cold, I was autumn's child and then winter's child. As I have aged and become afflicted with osteoarthritis and a screwed up body thermostat, I became spring's child; now I find that I am transforming into summer's child. So to answer the question about my favorite season, it is late spring and early summer.
