Ragnarök (Twilight of the Gods) The gods of old, hoary with age, stand steadfast and prepared. The coming times, a hero’s gauge where no one will be spared, will test the very gods themselves. The legends echo down time’s hall of a coming battle where beasts, once chained, answer the call to turn gods to chattel amidst the cries of dwarfs and elves. Sides are chosen, writ in blood brother against brother. Crimson rivers turn to flood; no mercy for another. Be kin or foe, it matters not. The gods and theirs fall feral prey to those that were unleashed. The sun itself turns black at day as nature joins the feast and ocean waters turn white hot. The Earth can only cry in pain as harshness rules the land and none have words left to explain was this foreseen and planned? Both gods and man stand in silence. Those that remain can only flee to Asgard’s highest peaks. The torn land sinks beneath the sea to find the peace it seeks: An end to untoward violence.
