The Teddy Bear Song By: Barbara Fairchild
The Teddy Bear Song By: Barbara Fairchild

I have always loved this song. When I have a bad day, I would like to be a Teddy Bear. I could sit on a shelf and not do anything. I would have button eyes and a red felt nose. Maybe I would have a string to pull and I would talk. Years ago, when I had a bad romance, I wished that I could turn into a Teddy Bear. Teddy Bears are so cute. I collect them. I have a whole folder about Teddy Bear stories and pictures in my Port here.

I used to love to listen to this song and have a Teddy Bear sitting beside me. My little seven year old cousin loved this song. I guess it was a kids song as well as an adult song.

My mother met Barbara Fairchild in Bronson, Missouri and bought me home a signed authographed picture by Barbara and a lavender necklace that she had made. Too bad Barbara wasn't passing out Teddy Bears. I love the necklace and picture.

I think this was her only hit song and she will always be remembered for this one. If this was my hit song, I would have been happy with it. I look at my Teddy Bears and sing I wish I was a Teddy Bear. With Paddington Bear now, he seems happy. Great song.
