Theses are my thoughts and ramblings as I forge my way through this thing they call life. |
Today's blog... You Are I Am β Mercy Me Just keeping it real. Blog City β Day 389 Prompt: Which way is better: getting all of our news at a single point or two in the day, or the birth of the 24/7 news cycle, with news being reported all day long? I am not a fan of being bombarded by news. I will admit I get a lot of my news from comments posted on Facebook. If I am intrigued, I will Google the bit to find out more about it. The internet allows for the ability to check any time, but you must also not believe everything you come across. I usually check several sources. The weather is of interest as it changes so much but negative news is depressing. I do try to keep aware of some bits so that I can carry on a basic conversation. Right now the big news is the pilot who deliberately flew that airplane into the side of the Alps. The emotions that circulate through me at that stir my blood β anger me and sadden me. The devastation and the fallout. Issues of depression, medicated pilots and peopleβs safety. The fact that it is not an isolated case boggles my mind. Another bit that has been circulating since the Oscars is sexism and feminism. This was posted on my Facebook page today... I love this.... http://www.buzzfeed.com/emaoconnor/this-comedian-sang-an-excellent-response-to-c... My aunt is a news junkie. She has been known to leave CNN on her television so she can get regular updates. This was particularly the case when 9/11 happened.... even in the schools, we had all TVs set to news networks so we could stay on top of things. Most of the time I am content to be less informed. |
