The Anarchist Snow Owl..

"Wow. Finally a nice day." Steven smiled as he checked his mail box.
His wife Lucy joined him. She smiled and crossed the dirt road
to the mailbox and was struck by a stag. The stag tossed Lucy about on
his horns. Steven watched in terror and then shot the stag with the
side pistol he always wore outside. Lucy was in a bad way.
Steven carried her to the log cabin.. The gravel driveway crunched
under his black boots. I'll patch you up." he smiled.

"I've called the medics and the bandages are closing the wounds."
Steven said to the gasping Lucy. "Thanks... How much meat?"
Lucy popped a painkiller. Steven laughed, "A whole winter."
Lucy coughed up blood, a sign of internal bleeding.
Steven knew this and tried to distract her, "Did you see my monologue?"
He was referring to his pod cast. Lucy nodded with a toothy bloody smile.
"I think reunification is possible. We can make America great again."

The medics arrived with a U.N. neutrality banner and flew Lucy away to
the nearest M.A.S.H. hospitable. A civil war had split the country between
oligarchs and progressives. Steven sifted through his mail. Letters were postdated
months ago. At least the United States Post Office had remained intact.
They were protected by the Colbert Militia. Steven read his brother's letter,
"We have retaken California from Mexico." He smiled and took off his glasses.

Reflections~ No one in his right mind does anything false, when he knows what is true.
