I bet you thought it was: the lion will lie down with the lamb. |
Nerine held the phone under her chin as she nibbled her Ty rice and noodles. "Rhesus monkeys?" she queried with a mouth full of noodles. She hung the phone back up on the freight train's dash board. "Wht's up with the monkeys?" Wyatt asked. Nerine surfed her Ipod; "There was an overturned truck load of monkeys on a bypass off Route 66..." "What? We're nowhere near there." Wyatt turned the headlights on as the sun set. Nerine gave a toothy smile, "I know. This might be a slip stream." "Oh." Wyatt grimaced, "This is a freight engine not a spaceship." Nerine had a sneaky grin as she ate her noodles and rice. Wyatt looked with suspicion at her, "Did you do something to the train?" "Appearances can be deceptive. The train has a harmonic force field.. But, monkeys broke the glass window in a passenger sleeper car. That required an outside energy source." Nerine surmised. .. "Oh? Am I driving a spaceship?" Wyatt sipped his coffee. "We're all spaceships in a multiverse." Nerine giggled. "Well, were two days out to Idaho and this is nuts." Wyatt put his coffee down. He slowed the train to a stop, "Looks like a herd of deer crossing." The train crept to a stop.. "What the hell." Wyatt got out of his seat. Nerine snatched the train phone, "We have a paranormal event!" Hundreds of grey naked humanoids crossed in front of the train. Their eyes glowed yellow in the trains headlights. "They don't seem to care about us." Wyatt had his gun. "Maybe, they can't see us. They might be in another dimension." Nerine took pictures. Wyatt pointed up at the night sky, "They're being herded." There were bat like humanoids flying over them with long whips. The phone rang, Nerine almost dropped it, "Yes. We see them. Out of phase?" "I think we should back out of this." Wyatt said in a deadpan voice. Nerine nodded .. The train moved slowly in reverse. There was a cool breeze in the cab. "I'll turn the heat up." Wyatt flipped the switch. The hail fell faster with more intensity... "It's suppose to be 76 degrees this evening." Nerine said. Wyatt spun his chair around, "Okay. Let's head back .. We're done right?" The train slowly picked up speed in reverse. "I want to see it again in the daylight." Narine had made her mind up. Wyatt rubbed his forehead with his right hand, "Your crazy!" Reflections~ Are there other dimensions? Do we want to go there? <^> |
