Prompt: "Write a paragraph about a life-changing experience in your life except doesn't use I at all, instead use he or she. How did you feel after writing the paragraph as if this experience happened to someone else."

Susan said "Honey, I'm going out on the porch for a minute. I need some fresh air."

"Okay", he said, wondering why she would tell him something as insignificant as that.

She went out the door and was gone for about thirty seconds. "Honey", she called. "Can you come here?"

He went out to see what she wanted. "Can you help me into the house", she asked. "I don't feel well."

"Of course you don't", he told her. "I told you a week ago that you have pneumonia. I can hear it in your lungs!"

He helped her into the house, wondering why she was too stubborn to go to the doctor. He helped her to a chair and sat her down. Then he walked into the bedroom. "Sweetheart", he asked. "What did you do with my disc today?"

She started toward the bedroom to get the item he was looking for. He heard her collapse. He went to her rescue. She was unconscious and he realized she was not breathing. He began resuscitation techniques and called 911. She was dead.
