WELCOME TO: GEMINI RISING ![]() UPDATED INTRO 30 JUNE 2025: Just a little about me. I've been married for 33 years this past NOV and currently live in Southern California, but I grew up in New Hampshire. me in my 20's I've got 2 boys who are young adults. ![]() I work as a 911 dispatcher for LAPD. I enjoy my job a lot. Still. If you can believe that. I love to write. Thankfully both of my boys achieved Eagle Scout. My Scouting days are over and I'm back to focusing on my writing. I like to get out in nature, drink coffee and watch football. Here's a little bio about my zodiac. GEMINI: Gemini, the sign of the Twins, is dual-natured, elusive, complex and contradictory. On the one hand it produces the virtue of versatility, and on the other the vices of two-facedness and flightiness. The sign is linked with Mercury, the planet of childhood and youth, and its subjects tend to have the graces and faults of the young. When they are good, they are very attractive; when they are bad they are more the worse for being the charmers they are. Like children they are lively, and happy, if circumstances are right for them, or egocentric, imaginative and restless. Their good qualities are attractive and come easily to them. They are affectionate, courteous, kind, generous, and thoughtful towards the poor and suffering - provided none of the activities resulting from expressing these traits interferes too greatly with their own lives and comforts. Geminians can be successful in many walks of life though their general characteristics tend to make them unreliable. They are often skilled manipulators of language, in speech and writing, and may be: debaters, diplomats (though in politics they are more interested in theory than practice), orators, preachers (brilliant rather than profound), teachers, authors, poets, journalists, or lawyers. | Okay, yesterday was WICKED busy. I went to the 7-11, gas'd up, got my CASH from the ATM and then I went bowling. It was sweeps, but I brought the wrong ball so I sucked. Oh well. I tried to go to the mall to pick up my airpods my husband ordered for me but it was HOT MESS. Managed to get Joey in time to go to the Dermatologist. His acne is looking much better, but he was supposed to take 2 pills a day and he barely managed to take 1. She dropped it to one but we'll see. This is some nasty acne - genetic, from me, sadly. My father had it, I had it, Andy had it and had actane twice!!, and now Joey is dealing with it. Actane is not an option with him. He doesn't want it and it's not a good fit with his ADHD. After his visit, we went to the mall, picked up my airpods, then went to the grocery store to pick up some items we needed for Christmas meals. Got home at 3 and started cooking around 4. I tried to keep it simple. Breaded chicken tenders using panko bread crumbs and fried in avocado oil, green beans and some fries. Then, my friends who I hadn't seen ages - Inna and Marika came to visit. We had drinks and dessert and caught up. We used to make sugar cookies when the kids where little but now Marika and Andy are in their early 20's. We took some pics by the Christmas tree. I spent some time and worked on my lodestar story. Then come to find out all my adapters for this airpods DON'T WORK. I need a new adaptor. Thankfully, I found a wireless charger, but still. Wish I had known. Today is also going to be busy. I need to clean the loft and my bathroom, make clam chowder and apple pie and here I am on WDC making Trinkets! So if you have a chance, visit the following, wish the Bees and the Veterans a happy holidays and get your trinkets.
I'm sure I'll pop in on Christmas Day, but I hope you have a great Christmas Eve and Santa brings you lots of loot tonight. |

Everyone's Sleigh On a chilly solstice day, The children gathered around Mama Sami’s bonfire to listen To the tale of Davvet’s Sleigh. “Once the Aurora turned green,” She started and paused and flecked Powder into the fire making green rivulets Dance between the flames, The childen paused and ow’d and ah’d Waiting her patience words. “A young Reindeer named Davvet Had to make a sleigh as a rite Of passage from boyhood to manhood. He carved the runners fat and wide Thinking it would be wise to grab more snow. Old Ante came by and said, “Davvet Your runners are too bulky and your Sleigh will be too slow.” Davvet took his runners and carved them thin Thinking they’d be sleek and fast on the snow. Old Aslak came by and said, “Davvet Your runners are too skinny to hold any weight And it will collapse.” “What did Davvet do?” asked the children. Mama Sami opened her arms. “His skinny runners Collapsed under the weight and his fat runners Were too slow.” Poor Davvet took apart the sleigh And sat in the snow, frustrated and worried. Then came humble old Niilas who hobbled out from his Gnarled hut and found Davvet amid the ruins of His sleigh. “Young Davvet,” he said. “This is your Sleigh, not theirs. Come look at mine as it as Held together through many years and make Your sleigh your way.” Davvet picked himself up by the antlers and Looked at humble Old Niilas’s sleigh. He took a day And studied and measured. Then he went To work on a new sleigh. He took his time and carved just right. Aslek and Ante came by and offered More advise, but Davvet ignored them Carving and wittling away. When the time came to present his Sleigh again, it held the load and Turned the corners just right. The village Reindeer were very impressed. Olav, the village elder said he’d Never seen anything like it. When Olav asked Davvet if he Had any help, the young reindeer Showed him the heap of wood And carvings in his backyard and said, “That is everyone’s sleigh,” and with A smile he turned to his new sleigh, “And that is mine.” |
