Thanks for commenting stevengepp. What makes it frustrating is explaining to people my need for solitude, especially while writing, or my enjoying working on projects alone only to have them acknowledge my request by showing up even more.
Wow... I can relate to this so much. People always think they are the most important thing to everyone and "arts and crafts" (like writing and sewing) don't mean much. I hope you find your quiet spot and you and your wife can get the important things eone - things you enjoy for yourself.
