I've been banned from ladders too. In 2021 I fell off a ladder 11 steps down, broke both of my feet painting the trim on our house before we sold it. I made the move to Las Vegas with my feet in air casts and crutches.

I would outsource window washing at this point, the list may grow as I age.

I do chair yoga too, I enjoy it. I should check out one of the local pools, it would be a lot easier on my knee that hasn't recovered yet.

Yes, I agree.
I've let go of many things, but only after bugging myself for a few minutes or so. Yes, letting go helps most of the time, within reason.
And I remember that case. That is something I can't wrap my mind around, though. That man must have been a saint.

I, too, am very reluctant to ask for help. My sons, especially the younger one, are always ready to help, but I don't ask them unless they ask me if I need this or that to be taken care of.
I hope your daughter heals and feels a lot better so you won't have to worry so much. I can see how difficult it is to be a parent especially in your case. Hang in there!

There are so many instances of abuse to all animals, I question who the more intelligent species is because clearly it isn't us.

I like the idea that some of the proceeds go to charities. I wish that happened here but Nevada doesn't participate in the lotteries available. I think it has a lot to do with the casino's not wanting any competition.

My restaurant

Prompt: Imagine you're opening your own writing-themed restaurant. Name it and provide a list of signature dishes. Be creative!

Maybe I’d call my restaurant Shakespeare’s. It would attract the cultured type of customer I think. Or maybe Hemmingway’s.
The dishes on the menus would definitely have to appeal to the poetic palette.

Entrees: Punctuation Pate. Freshly Formatted Fish
Main: Grammatical Goose Pie. Show but don’t tell!
Dessert: Dialogue Date Delight. Point of View Pudding

Chores

Prompt: What do you think is the most economical way to get work done? Do it yourself? Barter? Hire someone? If you've done a project recently, could you give us some ideas to help us tackle our own future projects easier.

Well in monetary terms doing it yourself is the way to go, but only of course if you are able to do it. I keep telling my husband the time is coming when we’ll have to employ someone to help with our big garden. He’s definitely banned from roofs and ladders now but we’re fortunate in having a strong son-in-law who is happy to help out (if my husband agrees to let him)
It’s difficult to come to terms with having to outsource anything when you’ve always been able to do it yourself.
If I had the choice and the money these are the things I’d outsource.
Window cleaning
Oven cleaning
Car cleaning
Mopping
I don’t mind vacuuming, in fact I find it therapeutic 😂
