Most entries are going to be E rated but some may go beyond that. |
You just want to read? These entries will be freshly written for a contest. Since I plan on joining many then I'm putting them all in a book. Sit back and enjoy it. I'll try to do a (poem) line count, (story) word count, prompt, and which contest I entered in. Though I won't be mentioning it in the piece, but "The Contest Challenge" will be a part of a contest I enter since it's about entering into a contest following its rules. Wish me luck! |

Glowing brightly A tree cast no shadow Looks down on the grass And whispers in wonder Where is my shadow I glow brightly And see you cast a shadow All I see from me is light The grass then whispered Amongst each other To decide what to reply And decided on what to say Your glow is your shadow It gives us our shadow Without it we can't cast one We rely on you Pleased with the answer The tree burst in tears Realizing glowing matters Giving sparkling gems Prompt: Any Line Count: 20 Contest: "Shadows and Light Poetry Contest" |

1 Butternut Squash, peeled and cut up 1 Onion, diced 1 Sweet Potato, peeled and cut up Baby carrots Garlic cloves, peeled and cut up 1 tbsp vegetable oil 1 Liter vegetable broth Preparation: Mix the onion and garlic together. Then mix the Butternut Squash and Sweet Potato together. Cooking: Use the vegetable oil and add the onion and garlic and let cook until onion turns golden. Then add the broth and let it come to a boil. Add the Butternut Squash and Sweet Potato. Let cook on low heat for 30 minutes or until vegetables are soft. While my ingredients are a little bit different than the online ingredients one thing remains common is what is listed for the most part. I don't want too much salt and pepper in my soup because there is such a thing as too much. But seasoning is always an option too. Mom would probably put some extra spices in it I don't know the names of. Everyone is a little bit different. Now that I mentioned having some seasoning and spices which I have at home, time for the main ingredients. I just so happened to have Butternut Squash if it really is that and Sweet Potato at home. What I needed from the store were the rest of the ingredients. So I came up with just needing carrots and broth, able to substitute the rest. So I waited until I could go to the store and buy the carrots and broth. The onion and garlic at home were unpeeled of course, but I did have the seasoning of onion and garlic too. I don't mind the garlic but the onion makes my eyes water. The next day I prepared all the ingredients and then cooked the soup according to the recipe. It seems like the vegetables took a while to soften but that's okay. Just as long as the broth was bubbling the entire time was what counted. I never had Butternut Squash before but knew the soup would have a sweet taste because of the Sweet Potato. It would be a new taste to experience since this was my first time ever having the soup. Salt and pepper would be added as needed as I wait for my bowl of soup to cool off enough to eat it. Rules ▼ Contest: "Sharmelle's Recipe Kitchen Contest" |
Lo and behold Out of a legend Was born a centaur Golden in color He could whistle And sing Chant magic And more But his favorite trait of all Was his wisdom And freedom Freedom to do good One day a boy ran across him Running away from some thieves And this centaur protected him From deep trouble indeed So the boy became The centaur's pride As he learned wisdom And returned to that spot The thieves came But the boy was prepared And chased the thieves away In the name of the golden Centaur The thieves sought revenge though And captured the golden Centaur The boy heard the news And came running after Meanwhile the golden Centaur was calm Knowing what to do To empower his freedom He needed to break free from the chains The young boy now a man Scrambled with all of his might To rescue his hero And bring freedom once more Just a click here and a click there The chains fell loose But now the golden Centaur faced A barrier to blast out of The man found the thieves once more This time his mentor's life at stake "Let him be free!" He begged. It ended in laughter A fairy flew in on the good side Worked her magic The door flew open And out came the golden Centaur "Free at last but you shall pay. Feed the birds of the air and The walking animals." A spell cast And they became a pile of nuts. "Never again will I expose you," The man began but got waved off. "It wasn't your fault at all. You did the right thing." Prompt: Centaur Line count: 56 Form: Freestyle Contest: "Celebrating Centaurs Contest; Closed." |
