OMG you just gave me an awesome idea about the minor character I worked on the last two days. She's been a background character all along - one of those characters who's mentioned, but whom we never actually meet. In one of my outline revisions, I realized I would need her, so I profiled her. So I had in my head that she would be there all along, in the story, participating, but following one step behind the action. You've made me realize that I need to leave her out entire and not reveal her until the end, when the situation looks so dire that it seems like a dead-end. Won't she be a surprise when she appears on the scene!!! A surprise to both our protagonist and our antagonist, neither of whom will ever see it coming, plus, neither one of them realizes that our secret character knows both the protag and the antag. *rubs hands together*
Gah, too bad I'm too busy to work on this right now..
