I do like being able to give a star rating and have the author know it is from me. It does have its limitations though. The other day, I read an item that was average as far a writing is concerned. I liked the article but could not justify more than 3 stars. I could not bring myself to give a three star rating without an explanation.

Also, that same day, there was an image I liked. I tried to give it a five star rating but it would not allow ratings without reviews.

Guess I need to resign myself to the fact reviews are really the way to go.
