Otherkin... I haven't heard that term in years. I would be careful using it... You could insult an entire group of people if you don't do it right.

The Otherkin are made up of people who believe that mythical creatures didn't disappear as much as reincarnate as other beings such as human and that they use to be a mythical creature in a past life.

I use to dismiss the idea... Then my second oldest was born. My mother called her a little pixie the day she was born and when she was two they finished cutting the road through the woods to open up more lots. Every day as soon as the chain saws that we couldn't hear in the house would start, she would start crying. "The trees are crying, Momma. They don't want to die."

We finally decided she was actually a wood nymph. So, if you use Otherkin your going to have to honor that idea in some way or risk losing a group that could be a huge part of your readership.
