Since I haven't read as much, this can be definitely up to discussion, but I'm going for gut instinct on all of these. 1) The smartest I'm going on a limb and say Maria Vásquez, out of obfuscating stupidity. She doesn't act smart, but she's super observing, and also quite pretty. Second choice would be...maybe Philip Fairfax? Though, I'd put my vote on Philip Fairfax AS Maria Vásquez, because that kind of planification is outright spectacular, and having two good brains in one just makes it THE choice. None of the AP crowd could couple to this duet. (Except maybe, I dunno, Chris Knouse? Though I have to explain that.) 2) The worst person to get hold of a mask Jonathan Straussler. Just knowing that he has ties to Fane makes him a bad idea; having surroundings that make him a potential megalomaniac just doesn't help. 3) Will’s greatest enemy (non-magical) That's a tough one. The non-magical restriction takes Audrey Blackwell out of the question, and none of the bullies really seems like a nemesis to Will as, say, Seth Javits would to Carson Ioeger. But if I were to work out someone on a whim? Mark Pederson. He's all that Will would want to be, after all. So, in a way, Mark is a symbol of what Will could be if he wasn't what he is. Imagine if Mark decided to take it against Will? 4) The kindest Shelly Nolan? Having her turned into a golem was a gut punch. A bit of a personal choice, but I'd say Will's mom, Martha. As for the cheerleaders, maybe Yumi Saito. 5) The funniest (I appreciate this is subjective to writers) Don't really think I could say anyone, but...Dane Matthias? He seems like a fun guy to be, when he's not taking fungi. 6) The best at sports (any) Gordon Black? I mean, he whipped that basketball team into shape, and when he gets forcefully turned into Will, he actually turns his life around and gets to be good at sports. 7) The best potential relationship for Will I really liked the stint with Niamh Stirland. Maybe because I dig gamer girls? If it weren't because of the repercussions of being part of the Brotherhood of Baphomet, though, I feel Will and Sydney McGlynn are kindred souls. A story where Will was to turn her to the side of the Stellae as an associate would be quite the choice. 8) The most untrustworthy Oof! That's a toughie! There's a lot of shady people here, but I think Abi Steiner takes the cake. She's basically an even worse Chelsea Cooper, and that's saying a LOT. In the chapters where Chelsea gets the book, at least she doesn't seem to betray Will and recognizes his worth. Abi's basically a sociopath. I'd also say Blackwell, but no cheating here because he's a magic user. Plus: hypno-eyes. She can gaslight you into believing you're the worst. 9) The most beautiful (any gender) There's so many beautiful people, but I have to give it to Sydney again. Too bad teachers don't count, because I'd put Cathy Schell as an option. 10) The person you wish you could use a mask on. Honest? I'm unsure if I could put a mask on anyone. That said, it'd be a girl, it'd have to be hot, and someone I could trust and that trusts me, because I'd feel compelled to tell her about what I'm doing. Preferably someone athletic, maybe with martial arts training, to complement my brains? And definitely someone charismatic. |
