If you need help boosting your word count, there's tons of ideas on NaNo's thread just for that. You choose the ones you are comfortable with. Here are some examples of the ideas... 1. Write long, flowery descriptions of mundane things. 2. Have a character with a very long name who insists people call him that. 3. Put in ideas for what should happen in other scenes as they come to you, even in the middle of a scene. I do this by putting them in parentheses (so I don't get confused and think they belong in the current scene) and highlighting them in yellow (so I can easily find them later). 4. Write the same paragraph or scene more than once. I find this to be particularly useful since I can't really remember what I wrote yesterday so if I rewrite it 2-3 times on different days, I find a lot of good stuff I can use in each effort. Then in my final draft, I can make much stronger scenes than I could with just the 1 try because I'm taking the best of each scene attempt to use in the final effort...which can be after NaNo when you have time to really sit and work on each one. 5. Add a dream sequence or sex scene or just add some dialogue while the characters are doing something mundane like washing dishes instead of just saying, "They washed the dishes." https://forums.nanowrimo.org/t/dirty-tricks-to-increase-word-count/51810 You may not agree with every suggestion, but there are nearly 200 posts, many of which have multiple suggestions, so surely you can find some ideas that you like. And you might even find some ideas that actually enhance your story. And be sure to check out my challenge
