A month-long novel-planning challenge with prizes galore. |
You have emotion in your writing. Take that emotion and put it on the page/screen. Whatever character is experiencing your emotion, set that character free to do whatever needs doing. Why does this character want to quit whatever is challenging them? Do they write for a living? Does he/she work in a factory or sweatshop? Why or what do they want to avoid? Now what is a friend going to do to try to help? What about someone who is glad if the character quits? What emotions are exhibited outwardly? Is the character sweating, shaking, or something else? If they ran away where would they go and what would they do next/ character alone or with a friend? Who did what, when, where, why and how?????? If all else fails then quit, but be sure the story and characters do not drag you kicking and screaming back to your writing place. Write about quitting, nay-be?
