What's the best thing a teacher has ever done for you? (For a newsletter)

When we think back on our school days, we think of people.
Our peers, seniors, juniors ... and our teachers.
I'm planning a newsletter on the nice things teachers do, and I'd like the community to share.

So -- what's the best thing a teacher has ever done for you?

The best thing: An instructor I had for a handful of my Early Education classes moved to Phoenix after the school year ended, last year. We somewhat kept in touch, and she encouraged me to use her as a reference, any time! (pt 1)

The best thing: I took her up on her word, and used her as a reference for the music teacher position I have now. When I was having a productive hangout day with one of my best friends, I received a text from her. (pt 2)

The best thing: She told me she got a phone call from someone, asking about me, and she told them I was awesome and they should definitely hire me. <3 Obviously, the lady took her advice, because I'm now a music teacher for preschool students!

The best thing: My mom had started working again for the first time in years. She kept forgetting to get me from school, so I had a teacher who would take pity on me and bring me home after I'd been waiting an hour or so. :-)

The best thing: I had a teacher in 10th grade who took 10 points off our paper if we used "a lot" as one word (alot). It was her pet peeve. I didn't appreciate it at the time, but now I never make that mistake. {e:Laugh}

The best thing: My fifth grade reading teacher introduced us to plays. I was fascinated and wrote a very silly play. My teacher read my play & allowed us to act it out for the class (sans actual ketchup & mustard, think food fight). I am now old and I still remember. <3
