Doom

It was a fine spring day and as the inhabitants of the burgeoning civilisation of New Alia went about their lives they had no way of knowing that a force of destruction beyond anything they could have imagined was approaching.

It could be one of three things.

1) The area is to be bulldozed and "renewed". The town council has approved a proposal to flatten the area and create a local "beauty spot" by a private contractor for a lot of money.

2) Activists released zoo animals nearby, including giant ant-eaters and other exotic insectivores.

3) Samantha.
