Finding a time machine of sorts

You walk into a strange room and there is a box like contraption.

"What is this thing?" you say to you friend Tina who is with you.

"Says here, personal time accelerator and reverser Dawn. Want to check it out? Looks like it has been here for awhile."

"What does it do?"

"Probably what it says is does."

"Well, there seems to be a book over here on this table," you tell her as you go ahead and grab it."This says it can make us younger or older, but it isn't really clear how it works."

"Aren't you a little curious about it--we could take a trip ahead in time, or go back a few years."

"Yeah, but what if we go too young or old? What if it doesn't even work?"

"We'll be careful, let's just try it out on each other. What do you say?"
