During the reign of Ganondorf, Nabooru was second-in-command of the other Gerudo. Ganondorf wanted to marry Nabooru, but she wasn't going to marry someone as evil as Ganondorf. As punishment for refusing to wed him, Ganondorf sent Kotake and Koume--the two Gerudo witches--to punish Nabooru in any way they saw fit. The two sisters quickly came up with a punishment for Nabooru; They would place a curse on her that made her eat every bit of food that was placed in front of her. Luckily, Nabooru met Link before the curse could be placed on her. Later on, however, the two witches captured Nabooru and placed the eating curse on her. Nabooru would have to wait seven long years before Link could save her from the twin witches. During those seven years, the two sisters kept on placing a tablefull of food in front of Nabooru. Nabooru would be in shackles and was forced to eat all the food in front of her...not that she could stop herself from eating. Nabooru quickly became fat with all the food....she became so fat, that she filled an entire room with her blubberly fat! Then, seven years later, Link came to the Siprit Temple to save Nabooru and slay the two witches who had captured her. Nabooru was fat beyond belief at that time, but she had awakened as a Sage....and with her Sage powers, she made herself skinny once again. With Kotake and Koume defeated, Nabooru hoped that thier curse would be lifted from her....but no such luck. She still eats every bit of food that's placed in front of her...and she can't stop herself from eating...no matter how hard she tries.
With the death of Ganondorf, Nabooru became Queen of the Gerudo. Nowadays, the Gerudo and the people of Hyrule share a peace and a trade route. Sometimes, Link would go with a caravan to the Gerudo Desert to meet with Nabooru. The other Gerudo know all about the curse on Nabooru, and they try not to place a ton of food in front of thier queen.
