Heading to School

The saliva and toothpaste come off after some scrubbing, but you reapply more soap just so you don’t have the smell of Tulip’s mouth on you for the rest of the day. You finish up and head back to your shelf to grab clothes and your backpack. You reach the shelf, put on some clothes, and grab your backpack. It’s not as much a backpack as it is a miniature pocket with sleeves on it. You stuff some scrap paper and lead pieces into the pack and head out the door… err… cracked window towards the bus stop.
The bus stop is only down the street, but for you it’s a 20 minute trek. In a more perfect world, Tulip would take you with her as she left. But no matter how many times your mother gets on her about it, she always seems to “forget” and head off without you. That’s why you don’t even bother anymore and just leave early to make it to the stop on time. It's a pretty nice walk anyways and you could use the exercise.
Arriving at the bus stop, you spot Angela in the crowd and stand next to her. After a minute she looks down and spots you. “Hey Stevie!” she says and picks you up. Angela shares a couple classes with you and is one of the few people who seem to be genuinely nice to you at school. Everyone else treats you like some toy or joke. You sit in her warm palm and listen to her go on about some movie she saw with some friends last night. You are so tired that you aren't really paying attention, but you fool her by nodding as she talks. You just focus on the warmth of her palm and her breath on you as you sit amidst the cold winter air.
The bus eventually pulls up and everyone gets on. Angela gets on and chooses a seat towards the front of the bus. As she sits down the bus starts to move. “Oh, let me show you my project for Ms. Johnson’s class!” she says, and drops you down into the seat beside her. She slings the backpack around her shoulder and drops it between her legs. As she kneels down and reaches into the pack, the bus hits a big bump. What happens to you?
