As Amanda came to, she was blinded by a strong light. It seemed wherever she was, she was going to have to adjust to how bright it was. As she tried to recall what happened, she tried to rub her eyes...
...and was unable to move her arm. As her eyes adjusted, she understood why. Amanda was bound on a table, her arms and legs shackled in a position akin to a jumping jack. Aside from the table she was on, there wasn't much in the room with her. The room was wide, probably about thirty or so feet in all directions, she figured. There were extremely bright fluorescent lights recessed into the ceiling, and a couple of computers were against the wall. Oddly enough, (well, odder than the situation itself) there were no windows to be found, or even doors for that matter.
Before she could ponder any longer, an electronic voice spoke to her, from where she didn't know. "Good, good. You're awake, so I can call that one a success!"
"What was a success? What's going on?" Amanda asked.
The computer seemingly ignored her, as it continued. "Now it's time for the main testing phase. Before we begin, on behalf of womankind, I thank you for your bravery and sacrifice by embracing this new frontier. To think, no longer will women have to be self-conscious about what size to wear, that there will be a day where one size will fit all!"
Amanda was confused. "What the hell are you talking about? What are you doing?"
Still, the electronic voice continued, disregarding Amanda's questions. "As the very first subject to test this revolutionary material, I shall let you decide. Subject #1, please state clearly either 'liquid' or 'gas'"
Liquid or gas what? This stupid computer hadn't answered any of her questions. Amanda had to figure out if it was worth playing along, or being defiant. One way or another, she had to get answers, didn't she?
