The medallion glows brightly for a few moments and then makes an audible crackling noise and then... nothing... You take it off and look at it and try to put it back on and it doesn't even tingle. Slowly mermaids pop up from around you. A purple haired one smiles at you. "I felt magic in our ocean... really close so I figured... might as well negate it... but what a catch we have. Human male... in the waters around the infamous... no... you couldn't be the owner of that fine manor could you?
