Giant foot cometh

Megami was just about to leave the park until she noticed something familiar in the middle of the sandbox. It was Shin's hat! She knew Shin always liked to wear that paticular hat when playing with his friends and would never leave it behind.
A bit worried, she decided to step in the sandbox and retrieve the hat. This is when the children realized they were in serious trouble! Shin and the others watched in horror as Megami's huge black leather sandal began to descend down into the sandbox.
"Run!!" One of the kids shouted out! As Megami took her first step into the sandbox, she felt something strange underneath her foot. Looking down she saw she had stepped in a patch of wet sand. She had no idea why it was wet. Unlike the children however, the wet sand did not cause Megami to shrink because she was an adult ((Assuming adults are immune to its effects))
The children continued to run for their lives down the sandy dunes as Megami took another step to retrieve her sons hat. The huge black monster that is Megami's sandal sinks down into the sand just a few feet ((from their POV)) beside Justin and Shin, causing them to lose their balance and fall. Shin looked up and realized they were now very close to his mothers giant feet and the abandoned hat he wore earlier.
"Where are the others?!" Justin asked. Shin looked left then right and quickly realized their other friends were nowhere in site! A sick feeling overcomed Shin. Did his mother just do the unthinkable to their poor friends? Justin then looked up and saw Megami reaching down for the hat.
"Come on man! We have to get out of here before something bad happens to us!" Justin said and pulled Shin along. Both boys then quickly ran over and grabbed onto
