You find a mirror in your attic that allows you to swap physical traits/bodies with anyone
This choice: Something unexpected happened  •  Go Back...
Chapter #5

Not what you expected

    by: Unknown
You walk out in the garden looking for your mom, but instead of finding her you see your dad gardening instead. "What the hell?" you think to yourself. Mom said she would be in the garden and dad is away on a business trip.

You don't really want your dad seeing you look like your mom, but you have to find out what is going on. As you ask your dad "Hey dad, what are you doing home?" you are shocked at the sound of your voice. It is not your mom's voice, it is that of your sister Julie. You look down and see that indeed you are wearing Julie's clothing and seem to have her body as well.

Your dad looks at you and says "Oh hi Julie. Of course I'm home, I just told you to clean the attic and that if you needed anything, I would be out in the garden. Do you need something?".

Quickly assessing the situation, you assume that your dad must now do your mom's job of being a stay at home parent, and somehow you are now your sister. You decide to fish some more information out of him, so you ask "I just wanted to know how long you wanted me to clean the attic for?".

He shoots you a strange glance and says "Well you have to stop at 11:30 so you don't miss your basketball practice at noon.". You are trying to figure out what has happened. Your sister doesn't play basketball, but you as Tim did, and you did have practice at noon today.

You decide to fish some more information out of your dad, "Hey dad, do you know what Tim is doing today?". You remember that your sister had ballet practice this afternoon and are wondering if that is what the new Tim had planned. Your dad looks at you (using the same mannerisms and vocal patterns that your mom usually uses) and says "Oh he's got ballet. I don't want you making fun of him for his love of ballet, he is good at it and it is a very athletic past time. You should be proud of him.".

Assessing the situation you realize that as Tim you would always make fun of your sister for being a ballerina. You think that somehow you became your sister but you still have your same interests and basic personality and that your sister is now you but still has her same basic interests and personality. From what you can tell, your mom and dad seemed to have switched bodies as well but don't seem to realize it.

To test out you theory, you ask your dad when Mom will be home from her business trip. You knew that your dad was supposed to be home on Friday. Your dad, sounding like your mom, replies "Oh Friday dear, I thought you knew that.". You reply "Oh that's right dad. Well I'll go back and clean the attic.".

Your dad gets up and gives you a hug just like your mom would.

You go back to the attic and see the mirror. Do you.......

You have the following choices:

1. Experiment more with the mirror

*Noteb*
2. Leave the mirror alone and see if you enjoy your new reality

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
