You had been listening to some strange conversations, but as you listed more, it became clear. Your mom was apparently unchanged, but it seemed that your older brother had swapped bodies with your younger sister. That meant that Brad, who was seventeen, was now in the body of Lisa, who was thirteen, and visa-versa. The bigger thing though, was the voice of a young woman. It took a while to realize that that was someone your dad had swapped bodies with!
You looked up at Karen, "They are swapped too. Except my mom." You sighed, "I guess we don't have to pretend around them at least. Let's get this over with."
They all looked at the two of you as you walked in. You hoped that the shock didn't show on your face as you looked at the woman who was now your dad. Your dad was now a very pretty blonde, but what shocked you was not her looks, but the fact that she was obviously pregnant! You recognized her from the company parties as one of the sales managers. Her name was Melissa.
Your mother looked at Karen, then she ran up and hugged him, "Oh Jake! I am glad you are alright!"
You shifted your feet, "Um, mom." She looked at you with surprise, and you continued, "Um, this is me, Jake."
Your mom shifted to you, "I am sorry honey! I shouldn't have assumed! Are you okay?" As she hugged you, it was odd to be eye-to-eye with her, and your feel your breasts pressing against hers.
You smiled, "I am fine mom, and so is Karen. At least, as fine as you can be with whatever happened." There was a moment of shock for you as you realized that you now had some very major things in common with your mom, especially what was now between your legs. That bothered you, and you and you had to drive the thought away. "Does anyone know what is going on? How did this happen? Why did we change but not you?"
Nobody knew at that point, but Karen said, "Wait! If this happened in your family, what about mine? I should go home to see!"
You agreed, "Yes, but I better come along too, so that they understand."
Karen only lived a few houses down, so we were there quickly. There was a similar situation in her family. While her dad was unchanged, he mom had swapped with a young delivery man. The results of her brothers were amusing. Mike, nineteen, who had always talked about liking big boobs, had swapped with a pretty redhead who had huge breasts. On the other hand, Paul, seventeen, who was always very handsome, and popular, and one of the most arrogant and condescending people you ever met, had swapped with a skinny, mousey, flat-chested, fashion-challenged freshman girl, who was not only plain looking, but her thick glasses gave her the classic nerd look! Even Karen thought it was a bit poetic for both of her brothers.
You pulled Karen aside, "Did you notice? If the swaps happened at all, it always seems to be changing genders. I wonder if that is always true?"
Karen nodded, "I don't know, but it seems that way."
About an hour later, we saw news reports, and it confirmed our gender-swapping theory. Apparently, some kind of meteor passed through our atmosphere at the time of the swaps. While nobody had any idea what happened, some thought it was from a new type of energy in the meteor. Since it burned up, we might never know. Also, depending on where people were at the time, there was a greater or less chance of being swapped. The bottom line though, was there was no reason to think that it could happen again. Good news for most people, but that meant that the people who had swapped were probably going to stay that way. It seemed permanent.
You looked at Karen, "So what does that mean between us?"
