Tim and the cane

Tim tucked the gold necklace into his shirt and stood tall, though not even half the size of Mr.Hartship.
"Boy, why aren't you at The Factory?"
"How did you know her?" Tim asked bluntly.
"Who?"
"The woman who was killed."
"I didn't."
"Liar." Tim hissed and before he knew it he was picked up by Mr.Hartship, laid over his knee and caned, then sent to his bed. It was the first night of seeing things with true eyes, it was set to get worse than this.
