Aurora wasn't concerned with her figure. She didn't have other girls her age to compare herself to and since she lost most of the extra weight she had on when she was a child, she thought she was now slender and healthy. Her belly was just a part of her, kind of like a security blanket that she had a tendency to fondle before falling asleep.
As for her fairy godmothers Flora, Fauna and Merryweather, they continue to dot on their young protégé, although they did try to limit her sweet tooth a little bit, but for health reasons. After all, they would make all the excess weight vanish the day she would go back to her parents' castle.
And sure enough, that day came.

"We did bake it specially for you, since it's almost your birthday", explained Merryweather. "Besides, you could use some meat on your bones!"
Aurora paid no mind to that last part. She knew she was too thin for Merryweather's taste, who was heavier than her two sisters.
"Thank you so much! You're the best!" Aurora exclaimed, before hugging her godmothers.
She put the pie in her wicker basket, along with a lunch her aunties had also prepared for her, picked up her black shawl, and rushed to the forest, where she usually spent most of her days.
When she arrived to her favourite spot, she decided to...
