Book swallower

Mabase was a small city, and nothing amazing ever happens there; just the boring ordinary stuff that goes on in small cities. The only odd thing about Mabase is the iron-shaped factory on the high hill that overlooks the entire city. The iron-shaped Medical Mechanical factory has been silent for a while now, which makes Naota very happy indeed. Whenever the factory spits out that write smoke, it usually means that something will pop out of his head and he would get swallowed up by Canti and help Haruko battle whatever had came out from his head. The last thing that had came from Naota head was that hand monster that threatened to "smooth out the Earth" with the Medical Mechanical factory. That was when Naota became Atomsk (or was it vice versa?). Haruko had decided to stay on Earth with her new lover. Naota...even though Naota was still just a kid. The pair had gotten closer and closer ever since that day, and it seemed that Naota and Haruko were really lovers (at least that's what it looked like to Kamon, Naota's father). Nothing sexual ever happened between Naota and the crazy pink-haired alien from outer space...except for a kiss every now and then. Even though Naota was getting closer to Haruko, he still liked to see Mamimi and Ninamori. Mamimi had left Mabase to get a job for a magazine that showed UFO pictures, and Naota hadn't heard from her since.
Nothing new has happened lately, and that could get boring really fast. Haruko almost longed for the days when robots would come out of Tak-kun's head and battle her...at least those battles had never been boring. Haruko was still the "housekeeper" for Naota's family, and she still tried to make Naota's life a living hell. Naota no longer complained about having ramen for dinner every night, and Haruko didn't like that. Haruko loved to hear Tak-kun complain about things that were out of his control, because Haruko loved to be in control. Well, if Naota had stopped complaining about ramen, she would have to come up with a new thing that Naota would complain about...and she had just the thing. Haruko licked her lips while playing her bass guitar, and looked down at her roommate. Naota was reading one of his school books at the small desk in his room.
"What're you reading?" asked Haruko, as she played a tune on the guitar in her hands.
"A book about Africa" said Naota without looking at Haruko. "I have to read this for a book report"
"Africa" said Haruko. "home to lions, hippos, and elephants. Home to the most fiercest predators in the world--" she lauged at that. "--well, I'm the fiercest predator in Japan"
Naota didn't reply and kept reading his book.
"I suppose we're all predators" Haruko went on. "but how many animals on this planet can swallow things whole?"
"Anacondas and alligators" said Noata tonelessly. He sounded bored. Haruko smirked. Soon, Tak-kun woldn't be bored.
"Apart from those" said Haruko.
"I suppose a whale could swallow you whole" said Naota. "if it wanted to...but whales don't usually do that...only in books and movies"
Haruko jumped from the top bunk and took the book from Naota's hands.
"HEY!" yelled Naota. "give me that back!"
"Now you're paying attention to me" laughed Haruko.
"Just give it back" said Naota.
"If you want it...go and get it" said Haruko. With that, Haruko opened her mouth and swallowed the book whole! Naota just stared blankly at what Haruko just did. Haruko instantly regretted swallowing the book.
"Ughh...this is why I like eating things that are alive" said Haruko. "books taste horrible"
"Then spit the book out" said Naota.
"I can't" said Haruko. "you'll have to go get it"
"It's your fault you swallowed the book" muttered Naota.
