Charlie had long given up hope of leaving his new prison and sat down in the glass jar. He then heard Cindy call out "well, looks like it's closing time." He stood up and watched as the woman began turning off the lights and locking up. "Hey," Charlie called out, "you can't just leave me here!" Cindy ignored his screams and continued. When the lights were finally all turned off, the woman walked out the door and locked it after her. Charlie heard Cindy walk away and decided this was his best chance at freedom. He walked to the back of the jar and ran at the other end at full speed, trying to use his full weight to knock it over. Unfortunately, the jar didn't budge. Charlie was undeterred and ran again and again, hoping to make some kind of impact.
As the boy stopped to consider his options, he heard the sound of glass breaking. He looked up and saw that one of the windows had been smashed and people in dark masks and skin-tight clothing had entered the store. Charlie realized this was a burglary and wasn't sure yet whether he would be safer in the store or with the burglars. He then heard one say "alright, ignore all the jewelry, just grab as many tinies as you can. Those things are worth a fortune on the black market." Charlie understood that there was no way they would be any nicer to him so he stayed as motionless as he could. He watched as the burglars opened boxes and jars and began grabbing squirming tiny people. The prisoners were stuffed into bags as the burglars made their way through the store. As one neared Charlie's glass, he heard the sound of a police siren in the distance. The burglars heard it too and the leader said "alright, we got plenty, let's go." They all began to leave the store.
The one closest to Charlie's jar walked past, then stopped and walked backwards. The burgler, would Charlie could tell was a woman, leaned down to stare at him. Charlie tried not to move at all. The woman reached in and picked Charlie up and began toying with him in her hand. One of the other burglars screamed "let's go Cora, we don't have time." The woman unzipped her top and shoved Charlie between her breasts, then zipped back up again.
Charlie struggled to gain any foothold in his new prison.........
