Chapter #6

There was more than just porridge!

    by: GodofRevels Author IconMail Icon
Indeed, it seemed that the original inhabitants of this house had been very careless with their breakfast. It seemed an entire feast had been laid out. Porridge, eggs, bacon, potatoes, a small mountain of pancakes. Everything she could possibly want was there.

Goldilocks wasted no time sitting down and digging into the meal. She was not a very considerate girl and didn't particularly care that she was not only invading someone else's home or eating their food. She started by taking a little of everything and ravenously ate.

All the while, she didn't notice the family of bears watching her eat through the window. The three bears may have been good cooks, but their efforts were all used towards getting their absolute favorite food: fresh meat. Papa and Mama cooked and baked to lure in greedy and hungry humans, which they would later serve on their own table.

Of course, like all their best meals, they needed fattening up. After all, they deserved it. These were greedy and selfish people anyway who would've just broken into someone else's home and eaten them out of house and home.

Mama and Papa watched with glee as Goldilocks ate more and more of their spread. She would make a fine meal indeed. She ate without a care in the world. She would be easy to fatten up.

By now, Goldilock's pace had slowed. That, or she was starting to run out of food on the table. Still, she had managed to stuff herself pretty well. After cleaning the last plate, she sat back and rubbed her swollen middle. Whoever lived here, they sure could cook, she thought.

But after a meal like that, Goldilocks started to feel pretty tired, and she got up looking for a place to rest. Like a stuffed, Christmas goose, Goldilocks waddled about, looking for a comfortable place to lay down.

At first, she found several chairs in the living room. At first she tried the biggest one, but it was far too hard. The second one was soft, but a little too soft. She sunk right in. The littlest chair felt fairly right to her. It was a bit of a tight squeeze with her belly full. It seemed like this would work, until she heard a horrible creaking sound coming from the chair. Instantly, it broke underneath her.

Well, that was a bit of a setback, she thought. Struggling to get to her feet, Goldilocks decided to try the bedrooms. She wanted to take a nap anyway.

Upon entering the bedroom, she found three beds. She already knew the outcome if she tried the first two. She went to the little bed first. She tried it cautiously, making sure it too did not suffer the same fate as the chair. This bed seemed sturdier and she laid back in it to sleep off her food coma.

Quietly, the bears snuck back in the house, looking over the damages. "I've never seen one eat that much," Papa Bear muttered, looking at the pile of dirty dishes.

"She broke my chair!" Baby Bear wailed.

His mother patted his shoulder. "We'll get you a new one. This was a good sign. She's already pretty big to start with."

They crept up the stairs to look over Goldilocks. Mama Bear lightly poked her stuffed belly. "Oh, she'll do nicely," she said, practically licking her lips.

Papa Bear crossed his arms. Just how to go about this...
